Dr. Fred Whoriskey, now settling into his new role as Executive Director of the Ocean Tracking Network at Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS, received ASF’s highest conservation award in New York for his pioneering research in tracking Atlantic salmon at sea.

Water is Up for the Spawn

The water is up this week making the annual viewing of salmon and trout on the spawning redds more difficult . From what we can see, until today anyway , is that there appears to be a good number of salmon and trout doing their stuff .

Birds are Moving

Out Upland season has been fantastic so far too with a good number of grouse still around . Woodcock shooting is still good in certain locations but with all the heavy wind a lot of the flight is gone now .
