The Sea-Run Brook trout are here . Good water conditions on the Cains and an early spring did just what we had anticipated . The smaller fish 12 – 16 inches are in great numbers and within a few days we will be seeing the larger trophy size ( 16 – 26 inch ) .Note the silvery color of this 14 inch beauty taken on the lower Cains on May 30th .With more rain predicted and cooler temps we are due for some fantastic “Trophy Sea-Run Brook Trout ” fishing . Take advantage of our June discounts .
Reporting from Wilson’s on May 27th under cloudy sky’s with light rain . The rain and cool temps have been with us for nearly two weeks resulting in high water and setting the perfect stage for a great early run of Sea-Run brook trout and the famous Rocky Brook Run Atlantic Salmon . We have one reported Rocky Brooker taken two days ago and the trout are moving in as well . Last night was a beautiful evening with warm sunshine and the small ( 6- 12 inch ) trout feeding like crazy . I was lucky enough to hook and land a nice 19 inch trout . The next couple of weeks should be very good on both the Miramichi and Cains Rivers . We are offering special discounts for last minute reservations during the month of June .
Wilson’s is pleased to report that conditions are good for the early brook trout fishing. We have yet to see any Sea-Run brook trout but the small native brook trout are hitting well just off the ripps and where small gravel bars are exposed making for great feeding areas . We have been on the Cains a couple of times but with little success to date. The best of the Cains run will show up in the next few weeks and we will be there to enjoy. We are due for some good rains later this week which will set the stage for the famous Rocky Brook Atlantic Salmon run that will blast through McNamee soon .
